JOLLEY PRAISES INTERIM STUDY
The Chairman of the Senate Health and Human Services
committee, Senator Clark
Jolley, R-Edmond, is pleased to announce an interim study
approved by President Pro Tempore Glenn Coffee.
Jolley requested an interim study to consider the
issues raised relating to interstate purchasing of health insurance
policies.
“In the insurance industry, there are artificial
barriers that exist between state lines which result in a lack
of competition,” said Jolley. “If we allow the Insurance
Commissioner to negotiate compacts with other states, it allows
consumers to have better choices and better protection in their
individual circumstances. Many health care advocates have championed
such reform, and I thank President Pro Tem Coffee for recognizing
the importance of this issue and the fact it warrants further
study.”
