Statement From Senator Anthony Sykes On Public Safety Funding In Budget

“One duty of government is to ensure the public safety of its citizens. We want to ensure an Oklahoma that provides an exceptional quality of life to families across the state.”

“In light of the difficult economy that Oklahoma continues to rebound from, we knew budget cuts would be necessary. However, in today’s budget announcement, we stood by the belief that public safety remains one of the core functions of government that must be protected.”

“Over the past year, the Appropriations Subcommittee on Public Safety and Judiciary has made a number of moves to further efficiency and produce cost savings. These moves and cost savings will help our law enforcement agencies perform their mission and protect the public.”
